Babu Ceramics debuted the first collection at the Outer Sunset Mercantile and Farmers market on January 11th 2026.

It was a beautiful, sunny San Francisco winter day, with the Pacific Ocean serving as the backdrop for Babu Ceramics’ very first market stall. Olivia, founder and maker behind Babu Ceramics, was one of several local vendors at the market and the only ceramic artist in attendance.

The stall was thoughtfully arranged with floral accents woven throughout the display, creating a welcoming space for visitors to browse the collection. Each purchase was carefully wrapped by hand and sent home with a Babu Ceramics sticker and business card. By the end of the day, 25 of the 30 pieces from the inaugural collection had found new homes.

Beyond the sales, the market was an opportunity to connect with the local community. Olivia met San Francisco residents, market regulars, and fellow makers who stopped by the stall to learn more about the work. Many visitors were excited to see large-scale ceramic pieces available at the market, something they hadn’t encountered there before.

The day was especially meaningful because it marked a full-circle moment. The Outer Sunset Farmers Market was the very first farmers market Olivia visited after moving to San Francisco in 2022. Returning a few years later as a vendor, sharing her own work with the community, made the experience all the more memorable
